Was it worth the wait. In a word, no. I thought the whole point of OS updates was to add features not strip them out. I want my KitKat back.

What makes it better on your phone? On mine a bunch of features I used are now missing and the only thing added was battery management but the OnePlus One isn’t exactly lacking when it cones to battery life.

I upgraded to 5 recently. My phone was rubbish before and it’s rubbish now with some different graphics. Firmware upgrades don’t really mean a lot to me...

I have an LG G3, but I run a custom ROM + rooted... the ROM I am using is lighter and debloated compared to stock. It’s noticeably faster and more customizable, better battery life too. I can go days without charging.

What phone do you have?

Motorola Moto G. My previous HTC One S was much better and I’m actually thinking about switching back to that.

I loved my HTC One right up to the point where my Camera lens melted thanks to the Zoe app.

Mine was great other than the volume buttons wore out and the battery was getting a bit short towards the end of my 2 year contract. The Moto G was really cheap and not too bad for the money, but it crashes a lot and drops reception for no reason pretty often.

I got the 12s updated yesterday, not really checked it out too much right now, what features have gone missing? I like the new look of it, the notifications and lock screen are better

Custom Lock screens (which I used)
A lot of the button options
A bunch of my widgets (No more lock screen widgets)
And all my themes
Plus I don’t like how bright it is and how everything requires an animation.

I could never get the custom lock screen to work how I wanted it so not missing that, as for themes, don;t they work on the new one? I got a theme on mine which has darkened it
![]() 05/02/2015 at 09:01 |

also you can turn off the animations in the developer options

After the update I got about a dozen notifications saying my themes have failed to install. I assume the developers hasn’t updated their themes to work with lollipop.

hopefully they will soon once they have the lollipop update

They’re adding lightness to the OS.

Really didn’t need it on my phone. It is like taking off the headlights on a Caterham 7.

Made my Note the smoothest it has ever been. I approve

Root your phone and install a KitKat ROM.

Yeah, I updated my Oneplus yesterday and was also a bit disappointed.
While the only thing I like, is that profiles can now be set to change automatically based on what wifi the phone encounters, I dislike the fact that many actions now take more steps to complete or require going into settings.
I use pattern unlock, but now after waking up the screen, I now have to swipe up first, where before the pattern was just there, ready to go. This is just one example of several things they’ve un-simplified for no good reason.

How is your battery life. Mine has gotten a lot worse like 50% worse and when the charger is plugged in at certain outlets it can take up to 8 hours to charge unlike the less than an hour I was used to.

Haven’t noticed a change yet, but it’s only been a day since I updated.
